Origins

In the past Sindr, the Queen of Cinders, with the idea of making powerful offsprings, seeked for a powerful race that could be compatible with her, and that could bestow her with hybrid children that would possess the powers of both races.Her search ended in the Dark Dimension, where she found the Faltines, a race of extra-dimensional energy beings born from pure magic.Finding a suitable partner, and imposing her idea, it was's hard for her to get the acceptance from the faltine, since both of them seeked for power.Some time later, a girl was born. But something was wrong, she was one of flesh instead of fire. Considering the Faltine has the ability of changing into a flesh body, they considered that was the case, and eventually she would catch on fire, like she was supposed to.A couple years passed, and no fire appeared from her... And with that, she was deemed a failure and abandoned by Sindr, left to survive by herself in the fire realm of Muspelheim...

Proxima Midnight

During one of her explorations for places to conquer in name of Thanos, Proxima Midnight searched in the fire realm. There she found this one kid all alone, surviving purely on her instinct... Proxima saw potential in her and decided to take her. For finding her in a place of pure fire, and yet being unnafected by the heat and having a fiery nature, Proxima named her Kaldera*.Being put under Proxima's surveillance, Kaldera grew up thinking that she was her mother, but she was never treated as a daughter. Instead she was treated as a slave. Being raised without the concept of love and with Proxima using her as just a weapon, Kaldera ended up developing hatred towards her.* Caldera means "Boiler" in Spanish, an enclosed vessel that is resistant to high temperatures.

Nova

At some point Kaldera was sent by Proxima to kill Nova (Sam Alexander) on behalf of Thanos. Upon arrival on Earth, Kaldera kept Sam's mother and sister as hostages to reach him, demanding a Barak-Tar, a battle without the use of weapons or powers.Being trained all her life to fight, she had a clear advantage over Sam, that lacked combat training, so he cheated in order to win, using his Nova powers to knock her out.When she woke up, she was inside a machine called the Midnight Sphere*, with Proxima claiming that because she failed to kill Nova, she would suffer the degradation of all of the fallen, but despite being aged by torture, would not die, apparently having lost the privilege to do so.* A Midnight Sphere is pretty much an Iron Maiden, having several needles that would supposedly inject her with a substance that would make that method of torture possible as described.

Revenge

Sometime later Kaldera managed to free herself from the Midnight Sphere, and all she had in mind was take revenge on Sam and kill him, no longer motivated by her superiors, but by her own honor and pride being tainted.Upon reaching Earth, she found Sam and clashed with the Champions in the process, only to discover that Sam had lost his helmet, that got confiscated by the Nova Corps. Desiring a true rematch, she convinces Sam to join her to retrieve his helmet.The two infiltrated the Spirit of Xandar, but once they found the one person that confiscated the helmet, they discover that the helmet was stolen by the Thieves Guild.Back to Earth, they tracked down the helmet and invaded a military base in Iowa, that at the time happened to be a scene of confrontation between the Champions and the Freelancers. Even though unwingly, Kaldera joined forces with the Champions. Meanwhile Sam sneaked into the base and retrieved his helmet, getting his powers and confronting Kaldera right after.Instead of giving her a fair fight like she wanted, Sam claimed she was a danger, and as result he trapped her in a force field, handing her to the Nova Corps, that detained her.

New Life

Once again freeing herself from her prison, she stole a spaceship from the Nova Corps and made her way towards Earth once again, decided to end Sam once and for all.Once finding him, she attempted to fight him right away, but her lack of sleep and food made her weak, being easily defeated by him. Instead of calling the Nova Corps to arrest her once more, he becomes sympathetic towards her, offering her food and a place to stay, considering her spaceship got destroyed in the crash.For the first time she was being offered that one thing she never had. Love, care, affection... That made her change her perception towards him, and in a short time her desire to kill him was gone.Being allowed to stay, she decided to have a new life on Earth, tagging along with the Champions in missions while she gets used to living as an earthling.

Personality

Kaldera is a hot-headed girl. She can be easily angered, and depending of the aggravation, she can become very destructive. She doesn't understand earth expressions, tending to take everything literally and getting confused with explanations.Despite her explosive personality, she can be very overprotective with the people that she considers close to her. Even though the idea of having friends and a significant other is new to her, deep down she understands it, and won't allow anything bad to happen with them.

• Superhuman Durability: Kaldera's bodily tissues are much harder and more resistant to injury than those of a human.

• Pyrokinesis: Due to her heritage, Kaldera is capable of creating and controlling fire.
• Fire Body: Kaldera is capable of turn her body into pure fiery energy due to her heritage.

• Master Combatant: She was trained since she was little by Proxima Midnight to be a living weapon. That resulted in her becoming very skilled in hand to hand combat.• Sorcery: Due to her Faltine heritage, she has aptitude in the use of magic.

Weaknesses

• Cold Weather: Being an hybrid of two races that are from places of pure fire, cold weathers will leave Kaldera in a weakened state.
